The Jets special teams had a good day not great. With Leon Washington taking Jay Feely’s kick off back 98 yards for a touchdown. That was the spark Gang Green needed after the last 2 weeks of play.Brad Smith and David Bowens also got into the action with stops on returns. Eric Mangini was very pleased with their play yesterday.

Justin Miller, who has been absent before preseason with a hamstring injury, is ready to start against New England. Eric Mangini says that Justin Miller is a natural at kick off returns. I think most Jet fans would feel the way I do. If you don’t practice then how will  you be ready for physical contact. My thoughts are to let either Leon Washington or Brad Smith take punt returns and kickoffs. (Newsday)

The Jets’ comeback win against the Eagles showed the determination of the players who are trying to make the roster. CJ Mosley had some excellent defensive plays in the first half. CJ Mosley also forced a fumble witch turned into a field goal. Anthony Schlegel played well on defense and special teams. Brad Smith and Marques Tuiasosopo both had good games, but Marques Tuiasosopo was very stable on the last drive with 2:50 left in the game. He took control as he was able move the ball down field with a couple of passes to Chansi Stuckey and his running back. Tuiasosopo got the ball to the 19 yard line with 3 second left. Mike Nugent came in and kicked a 35 yard field goal to win 13-11.

Tomorrow’s game against the Eagles will be the final test for Kellen Clemens and Marques Tuiasosopo. Clemens has had a good preseason for the Jets having thrown 4 touchdowns passes and a rating of 112.3. Clemens pretty well knows that he’ll be Chad Pennington’s back up.
Chad hasn’t faired well in pre-games thus far.
Chad will probably play most of the game to get familiar with his receivers. Marques Tuiasosopo hasn’t had to much play time this preseason. My sought are the Jets will probably let Marques go and keep Brad Smith. Brad being more versatile for the offense, as Brad was a quarterback in college. His ability to play more positions will keep him on the squad.(Newsday)

The Jets look like the same old Jets last night against the Giants. On opening kick-off Brad Smith takes the kick-off and returns to the 21 yard line. First play from scrimmage, Chad Pennington hits Leon Washington for a 79 yard touchdown pass. Mike Nugent has extra point blocked. Eric Mangini’s Jet defense let the Giants offense drive down field 3 consecutive times , but only 3 points thanks to Tynes’ 2 missed field goal attempts in the 1st half. After the opening drive, Chad Pennington was stopped on the next 3 positions. As his offensive line could not stop the penetration from Big Blue’s defense sacking Chad Pennington. In the second half the Jets came out and thier defense showed up to play. Darelle Revis had a couple of good tackles for the Jets. The second half belongs to Kellen Clemens and Danny Ware. Kellen Clemens, having a career night throwing for 47 yard touchdown to Justin McCareins. In the 4 quarter, Kellen ran 1 yard for a touchdown. Clemens went 6 for 8 with 122 yards of passing. Danny Warehad impressive night running the ball.  Danny had 44 yards on the night. Over all the Jets played better in the second half og the game, Eric Mangini has some work ahead of him by Sept.9th when Gang Green plays the New England Patriots.
